Tracey L. Wheeler, Esq.
Tracey L. Wheeler graduated in 1998 from the University of Michigan Law School. She obtained a BS in Psychology from Wayne State University in 1996. Ms. Wheeler has focused her practice primarily in the areas of family law, real estate, probate, bankruptcy, and social security disability. Additionally, she has been an advocate for both parents and children involved in the child welfare system. Ms. Wheeler constantly updates her legal skills and knowledge by participating in various educational and training opportunities. She holds membership in the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
Attorney Wheeler is a firm believer in the Mahatma Gandhi quote “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” As a law student, Ms. Wheeler interned at the South African Human Rights Commission in Johannesburg, SA, where she investigated reports of human rights violations and assisted in policy development to curb such abuses. Upon returning to the states and graduating from law school, she worked as a legal liaison for victims of child sexual abuse and their families. Ms. Wheeler has worked as a staff attorney at the Free Legal Aid Clinic run by the Legal Aid and Defender Association (LAD) and Wayne State University Law School where she provided representation to low income individuals in family law cases. Ms. Wheeler has mentored at-risk youth as a volunteer for the Metropolitan Future Lawyers Club of Detroit and has hosted exchange students from both South Africa and Japan.
